Battle.net keeps asking for an update
What happened
Before Battle.net updates a game or starts it, it checks the permissions of the game’s files. In the Windows environment on your Mac that check can fail, and Battle.net then treats the game as not ready: it asks for the same update every time you open it, or stays at Queued or Initializing. Its log calls this “Permissions check failure (2123)”. Malbec starts Battle.net with a setting that lets the check pass, from the next time Battle.net starts.
The fix
Click Restart Battle.net: Malbec closes Battle.net and opens it again with the setting on. If Battle.net still shows Update, let that update finish once.
When to write to us
If Battle.net asks for the same update again after a restart, write to us with a diagnostics file. The file counts how often Battle.net logged this error, without your account details.
Email support@malbec.app. For a diagnostics file, choose Help › Export Diagnostics… in Malbec and attach the zip it saves. It has no account details, and your home folder is masked.
